Some days I feel really positive about my job. While on other days I’m tempted to leave and never come back. Teaching middle school children (6th grade) is exhausting, rewarding and useless all at the same time. This past week has been especially taxing because the demands placed on me as a teacher have grown.
Thankfully I have a play list loaded with all of my favorites by The Killers. The songs range from Mr. Brightside to Smile Like You Mean It. I’ve even thrown in some Glamorous Indie Rock N’ Roll.
The single most important song on that list is When You Were Young. Listening to that song reminds me that teaching is only a temporary situation. It’s my personal reality check.
There are days when only music and a prayer get me through.
Happy Monday Everyone! Rock out on your way to work!

Ohmigod, I love this song too! I think we have the same taste in music. I actually use music to help get me through too. I’ve been listening to James Morrison “You Give Me Something” and Ne-yo “Miss Independent”. Be well:-)
